Our Jay Bird capsule collection adorns iconic John Smedley polos, sweaters, and scarves with an embroidered jay mascot.
The humble jay, commonly found in the Derbyshire valley where our Lea Mills factory is located, has played an important role throughout John Smedley's history. First catching the attention of our founder with its distinctive panel of electric blue feathers, and with the obvious J for John Smedley link, the jay went on to be adopted as the company's trademark towards the end of the 19th century and has since been used frequently in our branding and advertising.
Through this collection, we reference our heritage in a modern, more casual way.
