Our London Stores

19 March 2024

In July 2000 we launched our first retail store at 24 Brook Street, Mayfair - an area renowned for luxury brands. Our second London store was opened in March 2016 on Jermyn Street, St James’s – home to some of the most prestigious men’s apparel brands.

Our stores take inspiration from our Factory in Lea Mills and bring elements of craftsmanship and storytelling of our rich 240-year heritage to London.

In both stores you can see touches of our factory site replicated in modern materials - wrought iron fixtures hand twisted to replicate spinning yarns, exposed brick walls, and heavy wrought iron sliding doors – a direct interpretation of the original factory doors. The wall paneling has been created using the simple yarn spool as inspiration. Derbyshire Marble has been crafted into tabletops, hand cut maple flooring mirrors the original factory floors, and inset leather walkways replicate trolley-ways laid at our mill in the 1800s.

Contemporary handmade British furniture adorns the stores and fitting rooms, alongside bespoke lighting designed and crafted in a variety of British woods by Derbyshire-based designer Corin Mellor. To further champion contemporary British design, we commissioned bespoke fabrics from QEST (Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust) Scholar Tara Osborough, who translated our classic colour palette into the hand-woven British wool that complete our fitting rooms.
