John Smedley X Bill Nighy
An enduring partnership - decades in the making.

John Smedley is proud to unveil an exclusive collaboration with true brand loyalist and British Icon— Bill Nighy.
Available exclusively in stores and online from 17.10.25
John Smedley has been a pillar of Nighy’s wardrobe for over five decades. In this limited edition collaboration Nighy brings his eye for detail and enthusiasm to reimagine Smedley's signature silhouettes. Bill’s personal and professional life are woven into every aspect of the collection, with his personal doodle and handwriting embroidered onto selected pieces.
“If you’d told me when I was 17 that I’d be working with John Smedley to design a collection, I’d have arranged to be more cheerful in my early life. I wore John Smedley polos in the 60s and 70s in frontline defiance of the silk shirt open to the third button or the tie-dye t-shirts doused in patchouli oil. We were pioneers. As I got older, and Mod became Modernism they remained an essential item. If I do nothing else with my life, there will always be this. Don’t forget to Disco.” - Bill Nighy
John Smedley X Bill Nighy is a unisex collection featuring a refined range of pieces designed with modern influences - larger collars, more prominent ribs, and subtle yet transformative tailoring cues.

Among the highlights: a sharply angled waistcoat and cardigan, conceived as a distinctive twin set - a nod to traditional suiting with a relaxed attitude.
Further key pieces include a cashmere and merino set of Long Johns – a historically significant set of garments for the brand, and one of practicality for Bill who ensured they were included in the collection as he wears a pair on every set during his film projects.
The palette is rich and versatile, with deep navy taking centre stage - a personal favourite of Bill’s and a natural choice for this quietly elegant edit. The fit is unique, designed to be a shorter, boxier, unisex silhouette.
This is a collaboration shaped not by-passing trends, but by shared values - of longevity, craftsmanship, and understated style. A capsule collection by Bill Nighy, made the John Smedley way.
