In muted shades of grey and blue, our John Smedley Fashion Tartan is the epitome of subtle winter style. Inspired by the Maclean of Duart clan™s tartan whose descendants, as part of the Smedley family, help to operate the John Smedley business to this day.
Available as part of our 100% cashmere woven scarves collection, this legacy cloth was designed in collaboration with the last remaining artisanal mill in the Highlands, which runs off renewable energy. The yarns were sustainably spun on the edges of Loch Levan by a world-leader in cashmere spinning and then woven in Scotland using certified fibres. From tassel to tassel, our John Smedley Fashion Tartan Cashmere Scarf is fully traceable throughout the localised supply chain.
Iconic in design, luxury in feel, made in Scotland.

Reducing waste yarn in the knitting process.
Assessing sustainability of alternative packaging materials to plastic.
Using tissue paper tickets and cardboard made from only FSC certified forests.
