The Duchy cardigan is a limited-edition knitwear piece made exclusively in the UK using British wool. Created in partnership with The Campaign for Wool, this unisex style is sourced from farming tenants of the Duchy of Cornwall Estate and the sheep that graze its lands across three farms in Cornwall and Devon.
Creating a timeless silhouette, this cardigan utilises undyed yarns to reflect the natural beauty of British-farmed wool fleeces, sourced from Cheviot, Polled Dorset, and Dorset Down breeds – sheep known for their natural, chunky softness. Designed to have a more rustic feel, this piece is an ideal closet ally for the cooler months.
From farm to finished garment, the Duchy cardigan, produced in a limited run, has travelled just 300 miles.
As the Creative Design team have control over the product specification, they can incorporate sustainability criteria in concept development and design stages. The team are already working on best practice derived from London College of Fashion and Kering knowledge.
