Yesterday was an exciting day for all as John Smedley showcased the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection at the London Collections: Mens. Key industry influencers attend the three day showing which kick starts the fashion calendar. With an early start, it was all hands on deck as the 8 models lined up for the 10am showing…

Our lovely designers have been busy creating this vibrant collection which features angular geometric in bright tones.

Family photo albums from the John Smedley archives inspire the collection’s name ‘The Journey’. These albums date back to the 1930’s and include photographs from travels to the mountains of Tyrol for ski trips, to city adventures in New York and Amsterdam. The architecture observed on these trips has influenced the geometric patterns seen throughout the collection.

The idea of buildings and their shadows has been distinguished using our skillful intarsia knitting machines. Chunky knits make an appearance again, in rich autumnal colours of Egyptian blue and Italian plum.

Essential travel accessories have also been included in this up and coming collection- for the ultimate comfort. A decadent tracksuit made from 100% cashmere is complemented with a silk t- shirt, this combination results in unparalleled luxury and comfort. A functional bag and blanket duo made from Smedley’s Merino Extra Fine wool completes this set of travel essentials.

Of course the timeless John Smedley classics will be in the mainline collection available in both John Smedley Extra Fine Merino Wool and Sea Island Cotton.

The event was a great success and we even had visits from some of our celebrity fans including Dermot O’Leary. You may have to wait another season to get your hands on these vibrant styles but you can still stock up on the Autumn/Winter 2013 pieces which are now at up to 30% off.
