The Campaign for Wool’s annual Wool Week takes place from the 7th – 20th October 2019.

Aimed at educating consumers about the benefits of wool, Wool Week also showcases the innovative and contemporary wool products available in the market today.

On 17th October we launched our Legacy Collection championing British Craftsmanship to celebrate 235 years of John Smedley.

The event was held at our John Smedley Jermyn Street Store and was hosted by our Managing Director – Ian Maclean, our Marketing & Design Director – Jess Mcguire-Dudley and Wool Week ambassador – Alex James.

Not only crafted in Britain, but entirely farmed, spun, knitted and hand finished within the UK, this capsule collection of garments are available in our London stores and online.

This limited three-fibre collection features luxurious British Guanaco, British Alpaca and British Sheep’s wool.

The collection offers not only the finest fibres, but a completely traceable, ethical and sustainable prodict that can be traced back to the individual animals.

Wool Week continues to raise awareness of wool as a planet-friendly fibre that biodegrades in the land and in the ocean.

Attendees were keen to ask questions about our sustainability initiatives. If you wish to discover more, please see our Commitment to Sustainability.
