235 Event – Alice Walton & Zoe Wilson in association with Remy Martin And QEST

2019 marks the 235th year of John Smedley, the oldest and most iconic still manufacturing knitwear factory in the entire world.

On  May 10th 2019, we held a Q&A session with two of our QEST scholars – Alice Walton & Zoe Wilson.

Guests were welcomed at our John Smedley Jermyn Street store with cocktails from the event sponsor, Remy Martin.

The event was hosted by eighth generation Smedley family member and current Managing Director, Ian Maclean.

Alice Walton – Ceramic Artist

Alice is a Royal College of Art graduate and has exhibited her work across the UK and Europe including the V&A Museum, Tate Modern and Officine Saffi.

Zoe Wilson – Stone Artist

Zoe has been working with stone for over a decade and has become an extremely skilled crafts-person, continually building her knowledge and expertise.

Throughout the night guests were welcomed to ask questions and both Alice and Zoe were extremely informative and open with their responses about their crafts.
