1st December 2011 marks the launch of John Smedley’s Spring Summer 2012 Capsule Collection. Exclusively for women, the collection showcases John Smedley’s fine knitwear skills and features styles that are versatile and luxurious with a high fashion edge.
Spring Summer 2012 is the second capsule collection for John Smedley which shows a natural progression from Autumn Winter 2011. Styles are lighter and fresher but retain the recognisable John Smedley silhouette and form.
The collection expresses three-dimensional thinking, with shapes that flow around the body and are sculpted, yet appear effortless. Pre shantung silk is the perfect compliment to John Smedley’s Sea Island Cotton.
Designed and made using seamless technology at the site in Lea Mills, the aesthetic is contemporary and the fit luxuriously comfortable.
These capsule garments push the boundaries of the knitting machine, featuring techniques like double layers, twisting, asymmetry and drape.
The graphic yet tonal intarsia style is at the heart of the collection’s inspiration and ties it all together.
Here are a couple of articles in the press that has featured the Capsule Collection:
