We would like to thank everyone who made it to this weekend’s sample sale and archive appeal. It was a terrific turnout, Jane and John our archivists were over the moon with the amount of feedback they received. People were extremely generous in bringing in their treasures which we were able to photograph and record. We will continue to build our archive collection as a source of inspiration for our design team and future collections. Please continue to support our exciting venture.

John Smedley hosts its fabulous 2-day Mill Sale on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th September 2011. There will be a range of fantastic styles available including last seasons favourites, and slight imperfects. This event is open to all, so feel free to bring along friends and family. We know it’s too early to be thinking about Christmas but this is the perfect opportunity to plan ahead for a stress free Decemeber – treat your loved ones to a winter woolly. The Lea Mills shop will be open as normal during the sale event.

Learning about our past, helps to inspire the future of John Smedley and we are keen to continually build our archive collection. Our heritage is the heart of the John Smedley brand and with the help of John Smedley’s loyal fan base, we hope to gather any John Smedley memorabilia from garments to photo’s.
In conjuction with the next John Smedley sample sale, this event will be fantastic to mingle with fellow Smedley fans or anyone interested in knitwear history. It will be fantastic to speak with anyone who can help us piece together our past, over a cup of tea and biscuits.
